    Survivalist Essentials extends Minecraft’s opening days into a slower survival progression, requiring players to use appropriate tools to harvest blocks instead of punching trees by hand. Crude tools provide the first means of obtaining wood, and a saw is required to turn wood into planks, guiding players from improvised gear toward proper tools. The mod is designed to work alongside other mods and modpacks, with configurable blacklist or whitelist rules for tools and armor from other mods; by default, it allows all mods.
