Survive a poisoned wasteland and find a way to leave Earth.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 129 graded mods, 66 are graded A or B, 19 C and 44 D to F. Its newest release is for Minecraft 1.12.2. See the mods
The Nuclear Wasteland is a survival modpack set after a world-ending detonation, where players emerge from underground into a radiation-scarred landscape of yellow fog, poisoned rain, mutated wildlife, and ruins. A semi-guided questline and discoveries lead from scavenging Dead Logs, purifying water, and gathering clay to advanced tools, automation, and protection from radiation, with the larger goal of escaping Earth through Ad Astra. Survival is shaped by radiation, contaminated water and rain, biome-based effects, and custom crafting chains, while deep integrations with Mekanism, Applied Energistics 2, Rats, Biomes O’ Plenty, and Deeper Darker support the pack’s progression and exploration. The world includes four named nuclear biomes: Nuclear Forest, Nuclear Wildlands, Nuclear Swamp, and Nuclear Wasteland, with altered sky and fog colors, changed block generation, and new mobs and ores. Exploration also takes players through expansive, ore-rich caves and villages that may contain blacksmiths or Immersive Engineering houses, while the Nether brings threats such as Blazes and Foxhounds. Early machinery progression features Immersive Engineering’s Coke Oven and Blast Furnace for producing Coal Coke, Creosote Oil, and Steel, followed by wind-powered generation and Mekanism machinery.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.12.2 · Forge, 19 Mar 2024). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 27 Feb 2022 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the mods we checked
We checked 130 of its 133 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
5 mods send something about you
We read the code of 129 of its 133 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI use from before this release (19 Mar 2024) in the 78 mods we checked.
5 mods show AI use only from after it, so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
55 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
