Essentials Mods is a customizable collection of foundational and quality-of-life mods, intended both as a ready-to-play experience and as a base for players building their own modpacks. It adds ambient and visual touches through mods such as AmbientSounds, Ambient Environment, Falling Leaves, Visuality, and Visual Workbench, alongside over a hundred animals from Alex’s Mobs and exploration content including Alex’s Caves. World generation and exploration are expanded with structures from YUNG’s, Medieval Buildings, and Additional Structures, while Better Archeology, Better Advancements, and Better Burning provide examples of its vanilla-focused improvements. Practical additions include Inventory HUD+, FallingTree, Jade, Polymorph, and Not Enough Animations, and the pack also includes multiplayer-oriented options such as Simple Voice Chat, Security Craft, and YDM’s Weapon Master. Oculus and Xenon support shader use, and Complementary Shaders - Unbound is included as a recommended shader option.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 26.1.2 · NeoForge, 26 Sep 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 8 May 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the projects yet.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 234 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
9 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 220 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 26 of the 192 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
28 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
